Celebrate Mixed Heritage Week

Mixed

Celebrate Mixed Heritage Week February 25th – March 1st!

As you know, I’m Black and Mexican. I love, love, love being mixed! I was so happy to read that there is something called Mixed Heritage Week and that people actually take part in it! Lol According to the Asian American Association:

Mixed Heritage Week is an annual celebration of the mixed experience. Started in 2005 as a joint effort between MOSAIC (a student organization for mixed students, now known as the Mixed Student Union) and the Cross Cultural Center. Mixed Heritage Week seeks to empower members of the mixed community, comprised of individuals from every racial and ethnic group, including people who identify as multiracial, multiethnic, and transracially/transnationally adopted.

They came together from totally different backgrounds (mom’s fam is into education and white collar work/ dad’s family worked in the fields and did blue collar work) and I’m so thankful that they did …. because I’m AMAZING! I’m a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll.

=)
