Cute Wrap Scrap Baby Items

Attached-Mommies-Etsy-ShopI came across Attached Mommies on Etsy and I am over the moon.

How cute!

We’re hoping for a little girl this time around so the bows are driving me crazy! I’m also thinking getting a pacifier tether. They are in NYC. They babywear (that’s wear the “wrap scrap” comes in). They make cute things for kids and toddlers. I’m in!

I found these little shoes and now I’m in love with them. I’ve been wearing Keen’s for a while now, but I had no idea that they made shoes for kids too! They have infant, toddler and kid shoes. Check ’em out.

Skidders Update

almost .... all Skidders ... Lol

almost …. all Skidders … Lol

I was over the moon about finding these cute little shoe/socks for kids named Skidders so I set out to get some for my kid(s) that I don’t even have. Online they are $20 each. I found one pair of black skull Skidders on Craigslist for $5. Then we found a pair of pola dot ones at a thrift store for $5. Score! Then I found out that Target carries them for $13.

I was super excited until I realized that TJ Maxx had them for $6 each! Whoo hoo! We bought three pairs and took the ones from Target back. We ended up with 5 pairs of Skidders ranging in age from 12 months to 24 months … or so we thought!

One of the pairs of Skidders were not Skidders! Ugh! Anyhoo …. now we have 3 pairs of Skidders, one pair of not-Skidders and one pair of monster slippers and one pair of Pedipeds.

Ka-yute!

Baby Nursery UPDATE

As you may or may not know we are in the process of adopting a kid from foster care. I have been holding back on buying things because I didn’t want to go too far, but with our home inspection looming I went HOG WILD and now we have enough stuff that if a baby showed up tomorrow we’d be ready to roll! Lol

The ocean/sea nursery used to look like this:

There are books everywhere!

There are books everywhere!

There are a few more tidbits, but this is about it. The thing I’m most proud of is that almost everything in the room came from the thrift store! We’re a frugal family, but that doesn’t mean that our family can’t be happy and have the things we want. I can’t wait to take our whole family on a trip abroad!

Skidders!

Went to TJMaxx today and saw a cute little pair of sock-shoes. I considered buying them, but they didn’t have a price tag on them and I  was too lazy to go to the front and ask.

The little shoes are stuck in my head so I decide to look them up. Apparently, they are called Skidders and they are totally cute and good for developing feet. They make socks and shoes for babies and toddlers. There are no laces. They are like socks, so you don’t have to worry about little feet slipping out. They have nubbins on the bottom so little ones can walk, run, crawl, etc. without worrying about something getting stuck in their feet. This might be my next obsession!

Soooooo cute. They look like little mountain climbing shoes! Love it!

These have little, tiny trucks on them. How cute is that?

Thrift Store Shopping Finds

This says it all.

This says it all.

Today a thrift store near our house had a 50% off of the store sale!

We bought a highboy ($37) and a dresser ($30) plus a crapload of baby clothes. Since we have no idea what gender or age we’re getting I like to thrift to buy clothes that may never get worn, but thrifting gives me something to do. I know that once a little one is placed in our home we’ll probably buy more things (since we’ll be able to buy for what we have) but until then it’s fun to find cute clothes for kids between 0 and 2.

I know some folks think it’s weird or bad to buy used clothes for your kids but think about it this way 1) kids grow quickly …. so why not spend money where it counts (investing for their teen travel, college costs and a down payment on their first investment property) instead of wasting it on clothes that they’ll grow out of in three weeks? 2) clothes for kids can get expensive! If I can get great clothes for $0.50 or $1.00 then I say … why not?!

I’m so proud of today’s finds. Take a look ..

While reading Real Simple this month I read an article about resale websites. I don’t know about you, but I love to get a good deal on gently used clothing, toys, etc. The listing that they had for kid’s clothes was ThredUp.com so I went online to take a look.
