I don’t plan on doing a Gotcha Day celebration each year or really making an effort to remember the specific day his adoption was finalized, but since this day this year is a culmination of a journey I would like to have a small celebration.
At this celebration I’m thinking about what activities would work. In the last year we’ve already had a born day party and a baby welcoming. For the finalization party I’m thinking about having a low key cookout that afternoon with:
- Word search (make a free one here)
- Parent and child trivia game
- Wish tree
The questions is which wish tree to make. There are two that I like for completely different reasons:
I really like the butterfly detail on this wish tree. This one uses a manzanita branch which looks nice against the color of the butterflies. She has a link to Blooms & Branches where you can order tree branches online.
I really like the coloring on this wish tree. It looks really full and I absolutely adore the tags! She even came up with the suggestion of putting the tags in with the place settings.
It might seem like a small thing, but sometimes getting people up and over to the activities is a tough sell. Providing the activities right where they are might help them complete it.
I like both trees, so I’m not sure where to start. Perhaps finding the branches I want to use will help me sort it out. Next hike I’ll take a look around and see what’s available …. or I could steal some plum branches off of the tree in my in-laws back yard … LOL
